For anyone who wants to know why.
Why C0MP0UND exists
It started as a practical problem, and turned into an idea.
The problem
A mixed-age family, with teenagers, an adult child and a parent, wanted to share one money system. The places that hold money are not built for that. They assume one adult, or a household of one familiar shape, and they will not make room for a family that wants to pool across ages and relationships.
What families already do
Tight-knit and immigrant families have long built wealth in one particular way. Everyone's income goes into one shared pot instead of staying separate. Nobody keeps score of who put in more this week. That shared pool is what lets people go from nothing to a car, then to trade school or a first shop, in months rather than years.
C0MP0UND writes that habit into software, for a family that wants to run itself that way on purpose, with everything in the open.
What it is not
It is not a budgeting app, and never has been. There is no target for spending less and no shame attached to any purchase. What matters is growth. Paychecks flow into one shared pot, everyone can see every dollar in and out, and big purchases need the whole family's say.
It is modeled loosely on a trust fund that the family builds together while everyone is here, rather than after someone has died.
The name
It was first called Mom. The system is meant to be the one responsible party that makes sure the bills get paid and the Pot stays healthy, the way a parent handles money for a family. It became C0MP0UND because the idea already had a name: the shared pool of capital a family grows together across time and generations, added to by agreed contributions.
The long goal is real wealth that passes from one generation to the next. It was proven in one real family first.
