For everyone, before you join.
Our promises
Draft. These words are the owner's to approve and a lawyer has not yet cleared them.
Six promises. Each comes from how C0MP0UND is built, and each points to the rule it rests on.
1. We do not tell you what to do with your money
C0MP0UND is an operator, not an advisor. It carries out what the family has already agreed. It does not tell anyone to spend less and has no ideas of its own about what a family should do. Its chat can explain the family's own numbers in words. It cannot decide, vote or move money.
2. No shame
Every transaction is visible to every member, including ones a person might rather hide. C0MP0UND does not judge a purchase or flag it as a problem. It speaks up only when something is truly at risk, such as the Pot running low or a bill the Pot could not pay, and then in one plain line.
3. You are never locked out of your own money
C0MP0UND tracks and controls the family's shared Pot. It has no power over anyone's personal accounts. When a connected account drops off, C0MP0UND pauses it and keeps the record. It never deletes it.
4. Everyone sees every dollar
Every dollar in and out of the Pot is in the open for every member. Two things stay private by design. A personal account a person chooses to connect keeps its full detail to that person, and nothing from it joins family totals until a keeper confirms it. And outside help can send money without seeing anything.
5. Equal standing
There is no ledger of who put in more this week. Everyone's contribution goes into the same pool, and the pool is what grows. Yes, No and Stand aside look the same for every seat. A keeper steps out of any vote that names them.
6. We never sell spending data
No one's spending data is sold, and no family's is either. C0MP0UND is paid for by subscription and nothing else. Sharing combined, anonymous data is not part of the first version.
Rests on rule 26.
What C0MP0UND does not do
- It does not work out real tax owed. It shows estimates, and filing is for a person and an accountant.
- It does not produce tax forms. It keeps the underlying records clean so an accountant can.
- It does not settle who gets what in a divorce or after a death. It pauses and hands over a clean export for people and lawyers to act on.
- It does not watch for fraud on your accounts. The place that holds an account does that.
